Southern Gateway, Hinckley
- A four-acre former hosiery factory located on a prominent corner gateway site into the town and the subject of a local authority Masterplan.
- Acquired in 2008 by investment partnership MRP Hinckley No. 1 LP, with MRP Developments Services Limited acting as Property Manager.
- Planning consent was obtained in April 2010 for a mixed-use residential, retail and offices scheme comprising 56 residential units and 61,000 sq ft of commercial accommodation.
- On 29 June 2010, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council formally approved their intention to relocate the Borough Council offices to the site. They will occupy just under 30,000 square feet in the main refurbished Hawley Road buildng. Other public sector bodies will co-locate to the site to create a shared-services public sector hub in accordance with the Government's Total Place initiative.
- The residential element will be mixed-tenure affordable housing.
