MRP Hinckley No. 1 LP raised funds from private investors and Yorkshire Bank PLC to acquire a four-acre brownfield redevelopment site close to Hinckley town centre (Leicestershire) for redevelopment. Fundraising was led by Lanner Capital Limited, a London-based private client wealth management firm. MRP was appointed as property manager to the Fund, providing architectural and asset management services.
MRP designed, and obtained full planning consent for, a mixed-use scheme of 48 residential units and 50,000 square feet of offices, the latter being the part retention of existing factory buildings. Subsequently, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council signed a 35 year lease to relocate their main offices to the development and create a public sector hub - Hinckley Hub. Public sector partners in the Hub now include the Hinckley offices of Leicester County Council and Hinckley Job Centre Plus, the first such co-location project for Job Centre in the UK. The completed building was sold to an annuity fund managed by Aviva Investors and funds distributed to investors.
Hinckley Hub is a BREEAM Excellent building, the recipient of a Leicestershire craftsmanship award and was a finalist in two categories at the Leicestershire ProCon Awards.
